We are going to make a crossing from Sedella to Canillas de Aceituno. It is a very dynamic path since the landscape always changes, we will have views of the highest mountain in Malaga, La Maroma, and walk along the path suspended by metal crossings and a 54m suspension bridge that crosses the impressive ravine of the Almanchares river, Natural Park of the Sierra Almijara, Tejeda, and Alhama.
The karst nature of this massif and the erosion of the water have served to create a place of great beauty, which the locals know as La Rahíge (or Rahíje).
Today this section is recently restored and is known as the ‘Caminito del Rey de la Axarquía’. We will rest in a natural pool of crystalline water, where we will cool off and disguise ourselves as an ecopicnic.
On the way back we will visit one of the most beautiful villages in Spain ‘Canillas de Aceituno’, immersed in its Andalusian Mozarabic art. We will also recognize aromatic plants, traditional crops, and if we are lucky we will see wild goats.
